Goings On…..

 There is something for everyone here at St. John’s Church!

For the kids, Sunday morning fun and fellowship at Children’s Church and Sunday evening activities at Youth Group at 5:30 p.m.

           

Every summer all the community kids come together for a week of Vacation Bible School.  In July the kids became special agents for God as they discovered clues to living as disciple of Jesus Christ.

Sunday September 4th is the annual Blessing of the Backpacks – getting all the children and youth ready to go back to school with Jesus.  Remember to bring your backpacks to church!

For the ladies – “Book and Breakfast” on Saturday mornings at 9:15.  We start up again this  Fall!.   In between the laughter and the great food we also grow as  women of faith.

October 2016  – Our 6th annual Women’s Weekend will be held once again at Sandy Cove Ministries in lovely North East, Maryland!  Experience the beauty of nature and the blessings of worship and fun and study and more fun!  The featured speaker will be Michelle McKinney Hammond, author of many books on loving God and loving others!  The theme is “Living, Loving, and Overcoming”.  You don’t want to miss this!

Women’s Weekend 2013

For the men – Tuesday Night is the time for hands-on ministry.  The Men’s Work Group (not an official name but very descriptive!) is always hard at work around the church property but the main reason they gather is to honor God by helping others.   Community mission is key to the life of this group as they go out and help in Jesus’ name.  Open to all men – no experience necessary.  Come prepared to laugh!

For the family – Movie Nights, fellowship meals, Sing-alongs, and much, much more!

For the musically inclined – St. John’s Choir meets each Saturday morning at 8 a.m.  If you have a love of music, love to sing, and enjoy laughter and good fellowship, join the choir!  If you can’t make a fulltime commitment, consider joining for the singing of the Christmas Cantata – practice Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. and Thursdays 6 p.m.

For the Techies – Join the Worship Team as we enter a new era of computers, big screens, and digital music.  We need your talents!

We worship each week in our modern Worship Center at 1211 W. Arch Street.  Brand-new, bright and shiny, modern and spacious – with lots of new ways to make our worship meaningful and uplifting.
